I didn’t want that to be the name of the post. I felt cliché, like I was copying off of all the other bloggers I follow and respect. Then I realized I was being melodramatic and promptly began typing this paragraph.
Anyway, there are reasons why so many bloggers do a “Friday Favorites” post. 1. Alliteration is awesome. See what I did there? 2. It’s easy to say and remember, and it gives your readers a guaranteed post to anticipate every week, and 3. It’s a great way to justify purchasing stuff. I may or may not have a shopping problem.
This week I wanted to show you some seriously awesome things I picked up at Old Navy, of all places! I rarely go in there anymore because the clothing stopped fitting me properly. I think tiny elves came in at night with sewing kits to make things too tight, loose or short. But hot damn, did I get lucky this week – and let’s not forget how blissfully inexpensive Old Navy is. No shopper’s guilt here, friends!
HOW CUTE are these slip-on sneakers!? Something about me that we should square away now is the lack of color diversity in my wardrobe. I’m all about that beige, ‘bout that beige, no color.
I love the look of slip-ons like these, but I could never commit to the bright coral or even basic gray that other stores sell – too much of my clothing calls for a beige or brown shoe. These were made for me, and I’ll have them on my feet as soon as this disgusting slushy snow is gone.
Are we sensing a theme? I warned you, neutrals are my jam. And you absolutely cannot go wrong with a classic flip-flop like this. I can’t do rubber ones anymore – they just feel too casual for most outfits – so these are a perfect low-key alternative.
I have this theory that a workout can be substantially better if you look cute while you do it. Thoughts?
This adorable tank has a built in bra – BUT it’s unattached, so the open layout of the tank lets more air in to keep you cool while you workout! I’ll definitely be trying this out at kickboxing next week (Yes, I promise to post pictures of how absurd I’ll look attacking a punching bag.)
Last but certainly not least – a gorgeous nautical themed ring set. If neutrals are my jam, gold jewelry is my peanut butter. Or something like that. But seriously, how beautiful are these? I’m planning to pair them with a navy blouse and white capris – after Memorial Day of course.
There’s nothing quite like a shopping trip and temperatures in the 50’s to get you ready for spring. What seasonal essentials have you bought lately? Show me on Instagram – tag @drinktheday! : )
