It’s Monday afternoon and I’m still exhausted – I think that’s the sign of a good weekend, right?
On Friday night, Tim and I decided to stay in and watch House of Cards (we’re still not done Season 3 so shhh!) instead of venturing out in the snow. Yes, the “first day of spring” snow.
It was a perfect night to grab the ingredients for my new favorite cocktail and make a few Moscow Mules to enjoy with our show. After a couple of episodes, we went to bed – we had early plans on Saturday and didn’t want to be too tired.
Tim, Nick and I headed up to Yardley on Saturday for a beer tasting with our friend Bradley – he and his friends brew the beer themselves! We had a Dunkel, an Altbier and a single-hop Pale Ale, and they were all delicious.
On our way home, we made a split-second decision to head into Philly for a drink with a big group of our friends at Hop Sing Laundromat – a legitimate speakeasy-style bar in Chinatown.
The atmosphere was incredible but we weren’t allowed to take any pictures, have our cell phones out for any reasons, or walk around! It was very dark inside, with soft music and crazy inventive cocktails. I definitely recommend the experience, even if it was a little pricey.
Afterwards, we headed into Fishtown to grab some food and go bar hopping!
We had beer & giant soft pretzels at Frankford Hall, played some pool at Johnny Brendas, and then finished our night enjoying old-school video games at Barcade. Sometimes spontaneous decisions are the best kind : )
Sunday morning I headed to a bridal shower for one of my girlfriends at an adorable restaurant in Chadds Ford. The food and atmosphere at Antica were perfect for the party, and it was great to catch up with everyone and enjoy some champagne.
I ended Sunday evening with dinner and puppy cuddles with family and friends. Overall, it was a pretty incredible weekend – even if i’m paying for it with lack of sleep and healthy food.
What did you do this weekend?
