Raise your hand if you are riding on the struggle bus this morning.
Raise it a little higher if you are DRIVING the struggle bus on this Monday morning after a long holiday weekend. Wait, put your hand down – only one person can drive and I’m already in that seat.
ANYWAY; I sincerely hope you all had an absolutely wonderful Thanksgiving filled with family, fun and food : ) We started celebrations Wednesday night out on the town with our pals, woke up early for church & the traditional post-service Starbucks trip, and then spent some time napping and getting ready for dinner! After a wonderful meal, cookie “painting,” and watching Elf with Tim’s family, it was time to pass out and get rested up for Friday’s festivities.
We had our annual Friendsgiving in Philly on Friday night and it was absolutely wonderful – as usual : ) Tim and I headed out in the afternoon to run a few errands before check-in, and managed to snag the HIGHLY COVETED Goose Island Bourbon County Stout – which will absolutely be making an appearance on a #MondayFunday linkup of the future! If you have the chance to buy this beer – DO IT. I promise.
After alcohol shopping, we drove into the city to get ready & pre-party with card games and champagne, then we headed to dinner with 23 of our best friends! Giorgio on Pine is our restaurant of choice – they go out of their way to accommodate us and we seriously could not be more thankful. Delicious meals, birthday cupcakes and plenty of toasts were enjoyed during dinner!
The rest of the weekend was spent catching up on sleep, packing for our upcoming trip to Punta Cana (more on that coming Wednesday!) and watching Star Wars with friends on Sunday night. While we watched the Rebels battle the Empire, I sipped on this absolutely amazing Goose Island Winter Ale – and no, I promise Goose isn’t sponsoring this post! I must just enjoy their seasonal offerings ; )
Goose Island describes this beer as “layered with rich, nutty chocolate notes and malty, roasted caramel flavors, our brown ale gives you plenty to contemplate on long winter nights,” and I 100% agree. I did a lot of contemplating… about whether I’d buy a 12-pack or a case of my own for the holiday season!
