A bit of a twist on the normal Friday Favorites – SBQL stands for Song, Book, Quote, Look! Here are my current 4 favorites in those lovely categories:
Song: Anything by Transiberian Orchestra – we’re seeing them tomorrow in Philly!
Book: Orphan Train: COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN. Had to, as I was reading while on vacation and also wanted to play volleyball, drink cerveza, snorkel and sleep. But trust me, if you’ve got a few hours and you read at the speed I do – you’ll be riveted and done in no time. 1929 orphan trains sent parent-less children from East Coast cities to the Midwest in search of families – paired with a modern day foster child story set in Maine. 4.5/5 stars!
Quote: Pretty self explanatory. Instead of complaining when things don’t go the way I planned (Type-A crazy over here) I’ve been trying to change my attitude and see what I can change or appreciate about the situation instead. It’s HARD guys! But I’m trying.
Look: Lately I’ve been trying to figure out a way to incorporate white denim into my winter wardrobe. Fun fact: if you type “white denim winter” into Pinterest, you’ll get a ton of outfits from people who must live in freaking LA or something because hell-to-the-NO WAY are those adorable open toe shoes and lightweight scarf going to keep me warm here in PA. Here’s one I found that I’ll be trying to copy soon!
What do you think? Is winter white denim okay, or a fashion faux-pas? Have you read Orphan Train yet? Trust me – it’s the perfect stocking stuffer for the book lover in your life.
PS. Another Friday Favorite was all of the delicious coffee I drank this week compliments of my Blogger Secret Santa!
Thank you SO much for the Starbucks gift card and ornament Caitlin, I reaaaally needed that caffeine while I played catch-up at work, and I can’t wait to hang the mini cup on my tree! : )
Happy Weekending! xo
