Is it just me, or was that the longest week of the history of forever? No? Okay, great. Glad we’re all on the same page. Of course there were a few enjoyable moments – a particularly good Target run in which I found my 2016 planner (more on that soon!!), a wonderful-delicious-incredibly-enjoyable anniversary dinner with my guy, and a Flyers win.
But mostly, it was just an endless stream of work hours combined with not enough sleep and coffee in this entire world to make me want to wake up in the mornings. Oh, and a migraine.
Okay, okaaaay, I’ll quit my b*tching and talk about lovely things instead : ) This week’s Song Book Quote Look edition of Friday Favorites makes me particularly happy:
Song: Tenerife Sea, Ed Sheeran. Oh man. ALL the feels and ALL the heart eyes for this one. I hadn’t heard this until my cousin’s wedding dance in October and I instantly fell in love with the melody – but the lyrics are the true standout here. “Cause all you are, is all that I’ll ever need” ♥︎
Book: Mere Christianity, C.S. Lewis. To be honest, I’m only a few pages in so I can’t truly recommend this one yet. BUT…Tim’s dad gave me a copy as a Christmas gift because he’s finished it 4 times since July – and he declared it the best book he’s ever read – so I feel pretty confident that it’s going to be good. Described as “one of the best introductions to the Christian faith ever written” – I’ll let you know what I think!
Quote: via Momastery. How perfect. In the wake of New Year’s and all the promises we make to ourselves, and in the midst of constantly striving to improve, it’s incredibly refreshing to be reminded (and remind myself!) that who I am is
good enough amazing.
Look: Button down & Sweater. I’ve always wanted to perfect this combo, but I haven’t had exactly the right type of sweater. This year I’ve got a gorgeous winter white cable knit to pair with my light chambray top – I’ll probably wear with black dressy leggings and boots – and if it looks good enough, I miiiight just show it off here ; )
What do you think? Can I pull that look off with my awkwardly long torso? Have you read Mere Christianity? ARE YOU ALSO IN LOVE WITH ED SHEERAN IN ALL HIS GINGERY GOODNESS?
Have an absolutely wonderful Friday and an even better weekend!
