Rant: For the first time in my adult life of tax returns, I owe money. And I am NOT PLEASED about it. Before I started with my current job, I was considered an “independent contractor” at my prior company and apparently that’s what’s emptying my (already pathetic) wallet this year.
Ironically enough, my Friday Favorites post today is about a few random purchases I’ve made recently! Don’t worry, I almost always shop with gift cards or coupons – but I still feel a little guilty about my new items given the large chunk of change I’m about to throw at the U.S. government. Oh well, it’s Friday…
Let’s talk shopping!
- Clothing: I have been legitimately obsessed with Old Navy for about a year now. I mostly purchase my activewear there, as they have incredible prices on really well-made items. But recently I tried out a pair of their Rockstar jeans and holy moly, guys – PERFECTION. So, so comfortable and a big variety of rinse/color/style options as well. Here’s my latest pair with another ON favorite – the Relaxed V-Neck Tee which is only $7 right now. Seven dollars. Seriously.
- Shoes: Will I ever love another store the way I love Target? No. The answer is no. I had a Christmas gift card to spend and after my recent closet overhaul & organization, I realized my go-to nude wedges and gold sandals were both ready to retire. I’m talking 3-4 years of constant wear – and I am not particularly careful with my shoes… I picked up these gorgeous Buffy wedges in tan and these Jana sandals to replace my gold pair. Hey Mother Nature – can you get your act together so I can actually wear these? K thanks.
- Products: Game-changer skincare alert, y’all. RoC resurfacing wipes are AMAZING. In a futile attempt to make them last, I’ve limited myself to only 2 per week, but that may not actually happen. I highly recommend adding these to your shower routine – along with this fantastic Neutrogena cleanser. My skin has never, ever been softer or brighter. Last but not least, MAKE sent me these adorable mini versions of their eyeshadow and lip color to try, and I squealed like a little girl when I saw how cute and tiny they were. #noshame. The colors they sent are perfect for my complexion – and 10% of all sales are donated to the We See Beauty Foundation! Use the code MAKEYOURSELF for 20% off – but you’ll have to deal with the less adorable full sized versions ; )
Shopping round-up complete: Now it’s time to finish this workday and head out to Avalon for the weekend with all of my favorite human beings! Next week I’ll be back with birthday celebrations, more DIY’s and my favorite chic sneakers for the season – Enjoy your days off!
