Hello, hello and happy Tuesday! As much as I need the weekends to relax and recharge, I also tend to welcome the routine of a workweek with open arms. And if those arms are toned and strong, even better ; ) As promised in this post, I’m back today with a quick and easy arms AMRAP circuit you can complete anywhere – even at work!
Some of you are scratching your heads – “what’s an AMRAP Jac? Sounds like a military acronym and I’m definitely not Navy SEAL material.” No worries – AMRAP stands for “as many reps as possible” meaning you complete the set of exercises over and over until time is up – then you move on to the next set. Perfect for every skill level! Let’s get started : )
Grab a yoga mat and a set or two of dumbbells – You can find these cheap at 5 Below! I would recommend beginners use 5-7.5 lbs and those with a bit more experience can go 7.5-15, or whatever you’re comfortable with. Find some open space (book a conference room!) and set your phone timer to 5 minutes. Stretch our your arms and do 20 jumping jacks to get your heart pumping. Now, let’s begin!
Set 1: Complete circuit as many times as possible in 5 minutes
Set 2: Complete circuit as many times as possible in 5 minutes
Repeat! – Optional “cashout”: 1 minute of plank-ups
Okay – how did you do? Hopefully that wasn’t too confusing. I’d prefer to have photos showing exactly how to do each exercise but someone isn’t always available to follow me around with a camera ; ) If you’re unsure of how to complete a certain exercise, try googling it for more clarification. And if you still can’t get a handle on it – skip it and do more reps of the others. Better safe than pulled muscle!
You know the saying – summer bodies are made in the winter. Well we’re a little late for that (#typicaljacqui) but it’s NEVER too late to start taking your health seriously. And with an arms AMRAP this easy, you have no excuses! Let me know how it goes, and what kind of workout you’d like to see next – legs or abs!? : )
