Happy Friday, and happy “us normal people can shop the #nsale” day! ; ) Just kidding, I know a Nordstrom credit card* isn’t that elusive. I’m not an affiliate blogger so you won’t find a huge post with tons of clickable images and shopping links here – but I did create a wishlist ahead of time so I was ready to go in and purchase when the clock struck “sale.” TONS of great items at even greater prices!
*Edit: I signed up for one yesterday afternoon and placed my order. Check back in with me in a few months to see if I regret this. Le sigh.
So guys, I recently had a revelation. About a year or so ago, I finally realized that (for the most part) if you shell out a little bit extra for higher quality clothing/shoes/accessories, THEY WILL LAST LONGER. Shocking, right? For example, I am pretty die hard when it comes to Old Navy’s activewear but when you work out 4 times a week, these items start to lose it a little after 6 months or so. While the price points are so low that I can just continually replace these items, I’ve started to realize I’d rather buy one pair of $65 Zella leggings that will last years instead, or a $69 Leith dress instead of a $20 Target one. So on and so forth. But with only one great Nordstrom sale a year, how is a girl supposed to get these designer looks for less? Enter ThredUp.
Disclaimer – or is this unnecessary? I am also NOT an affiliate for ThredUp, though that would be awesome. (Call me!) But I’ve been consigning with them for a few years now and I just truly love the process enough to share it with all of you. AND some of these links to their site will get me referral dolla dolla billz so if you’re considering creating an account, pretty please do so through me ; )
I recently filled up a humungosaurus bag of clothing, shoes and accessories and shipped it straight away to the clothing elves at ThredUp. I like to think of them like the North Pole elves except with clothes. Is this weird? Okay. I was credited about $28 to my account, so when I saw that I could get 20% off my order if I used the ThredUp app, I jumped on that ish. Time to find those aforementioned designer looks for less – MUCH less!
My go-to (as you all know) is always a good dress, so I was thrilled to find simple black JCrew number listed in “excellent” condition in my size. I also scooped up a pair of Hinge brand OTK boots and yes I KNOW it’s July, but go ahead and see if you can find a single great pair come September when everyone and their mother are searching. Except my mom, because she’s searching now, because she’s got a smart daughter ; )
The dress and boots were retailed at $158 and $60 respectively, and I got them both, PLUS an Adidas workout tank and a Merona maxi dress for a grand total of $44.19 after my discount and credit. And my original total of $88.95? STILL WORTH IT.
Are you picking up what I’m putting down? Sign up for free. Clean out your closet, get paid, get new (to you) clothes. Or shoes. Handbags? Whatever you want. Something for the kids? Nah, don’t waste your hard earned closet dollars on them ; ) And I knooooow I said no product images but I couldn’t resist rounding up some of the best designer looks ThredUp has to offer – hurry up before someone else (me) scoops these up!
