Happy Friday! Still feeling a bit rusty from my unplanned blog break but trying to get back in the groove because I’ve missed this way too much. We’re headed out later this afternoon to visit Nicole in DC, but I wanted to stop in with a quick post in case you’re in need of an easy but thoughtful gift for someone in your life. I have the most adorable shirt from Old Navy that reads “Prosecco then Espresso” – the main inspiration for this DIY “Booze & Brews” birthday gift!
First, gather the main essentials of your gift:
- Small bottle of prosecco
- Adorable coffee mug (try the Target dollar spot!)
- Starbucks gift card
- Gift bag and tissue paper
- Blank card & envelope
I figured I couldn’t go wrong gifting my girlfriend with two essentials to a good birthday weekend – alcohol and coffee ; ) – And what better way to tie them together than with some rhyming and alliteration? Using a few hand-lettering guides, I decorated the front of my card with the “Prosecco then Espresso” quote, then wrote a cute message inside:
“Hope your birthday is filled with booze & brews!”
I found a few kraft bags and some cute tissue paper to tie the whole birthday gift together. You could of course take this a bit further by spending a bit more money, and you could even make this into a raffle basket for an event. Use a big basket or ice bucket instead of a bag, add full sized bottles of prosecco, coffee grounds or K-cups, multiple mugs or champagne glasses, or a gift card to your local wine store. Planning a bachelorette weekend? Add an eye mask and some Advil for the morning after and you’ve got a great goody bag for your girls!
Save this to your Pinterest board for the next time you need a creative birthday gift, and have fun putting it all together – Cheers!
