Guys. Sometimes I literally have to bargain with myself to get to the gym. I thought signing up and paying for a membership would make me more inclined to go… but coming home in the dark in these winter months just makes me want to crawl into bed with Netflix, cookies and milk!
On days when I don’t make it 15 MINUTES DOWN THE ROAD to Planet Fitness, I like to fit in a quick at home workout of some sorts – I can do abs quite easily, and we have a bodypress-type machine in the basement for legs and arms. It certainly doesn’t give me those cardio endorphins I love so much, but it DOES help me feel like less of a slacker/waste of life/fat kid consuming Milanos by the bag…
Currently loving this Skinny Mom 3-Minute Abs routine – Seriously, 3 minutes! Though I do usually repeat it a few times or alternate it with some squats or bicep curls – either at the gym or at home. It’s easy, it’s quick, and it requires no fancy equipment – looking at you “yoga blocks”
Do each move for 30 seconds. Start with a Bicycle Crunch, move into Modified V-Ups, followed by Plank Up Downs:
After that comes Lying Leg Raises and Scissor Kicks, and you’ll finish with 30 seconds of Reverse Crunches! Trust me – 30 seconds is NOT hard. Try moving to a different song on your playlist with each move – you’ll quickly realize they’re not playing very long!
