I’ll keep it short & sweet: Holiday break was magical, work is the worst.
Okay, it’s not the WORST. Let’s just say it was a multiple-trips-to-Starbucks kinda Monday, shall we? I don’t know why but I felt particularly sluggish after all those days off (even though I worked in between Christmas and New Year’s) – and now I’m paying for it. Time to eat ALL the healthy things and run ALL the miles!
Here’s a gratuitous iPhone photo dump of my recent shenanigans and escapades for your viewing pleasure, and after that we’ll get right into resolutions!
This year, I’m going to be realistic and specific with my goals. No more “get a better body by summer.” I’m going to make attainable resolutions and do my best to record them – especially here so I stay accountable! Here goes…
- Run 216 miles in one year – I averaged it out and if I run 4 miles a week (2 miles, 2x) I’ll hit 208. I obviously rounded up because it sounded much cooler ; ) I do think I’ll end up going above and beyond this goal (Broad Street itself will get me 10 miles) but I don’t want to fall short so I’m keeping it low!
- Get organized & get rid – I purge my room/closet a few times a year, usually in the spring and fall, but I suddenly feel like I have an exorbitant amount of STUFF. Stuff I don’t need, use or wear. Time to get it all together and figure out exactly what is moving forward with me and what I’m leaving behind. And related to that….
- SPEND LESS MONEY. Leading up to the holidays was just one credit card swipe after another. I already pay enough to commute and park at work, plus bills on top of that. Oh and did I mention I have enough STUFF? So I’m on a spending freeze – nothing but gifts for others, paying bills and the occasional food or beverage purchase on the weekends.
That’s all for now! Those are the big ones, at least. I also want to travel, spend less time on my phone and computer, blog consistently, cook healthy meals, and give my photography business a jump start, but those are more like “life goals” than specific 2016 resolutions, don’tcha think?
Happy New Year guys! Thanks for sticking around! : )
