All of you Californians can keep your year-round sunshine and 75-degrees: I’ll always think the East Coast is the best coast. More specifically, the Philadelphia area. From where I live (in the suburbs outside of the city) I can reach Philly in 30 minutes, the beach in an hour and a half, NYC in 2 hours and the Pocono mountains in 2.5. Perfection.
I was so excited when I saw this week’s Creative Closet prompt – I’m truly a classically styled, preppy girl at heart. Pearl earrings every single day, and plenty of blouses and boat shoes. I wanted to do a casual take on this outfit theme, so I went with my most comfortable pair of twill shorts, a soft-style white button down & classic tan Sperry’s.
This white button down is (of course) from Target, and it’s easily one of the best purchases I’ve ever made there. Crazy, ridiculously soft, the perfect ¾ length sleeve, and under $17: I should have gotten it in every color.
I get a LOT of use out of my boat shoes once the weather warms up – they’re perfect for days when you’ll be doing too much walking for sandals, or nights on the deck when flip flops would be too chilly.
And this hat. Oh, how I love this hat. I had my eye on it for almost a full year at Waypoint in Stone Harbor, but couldn’t justify the price. Sale time hit around Labor Day and this baby was finally mine. Fun fact: The coordinates on the front are the longitude and latitude of Avalon, NJ : )
I’m counting down the minutes ‘til we’re down the shore again every weekend. Where do you spend your summers?
