This shouldn’t come as a surprise if you read my about page, but I’m here to confess: Michaels Arts & Crafts is my happy place.
I’m serious. Though Target, bookstores, and office supply stores come in very high at the top of my favorite places to shop, I have literally spent hours wandering around Michaels with no actual reason to be in the store. It simply makes me happy.
Time for a Friday Favorites edition featuring some of the best products I’ve found lately at my happy place. Best part? They were ALL on sale:
Ok, how awesome is this letter? For $10, you got a kit including the letter of your choice, a string of lights, and a paper insert that you can paint/decorate and add to the backsplash of the marquee! I’ve kept mine white so far because I love the clean look, but I think eventually I’ll do a gray and white design to match my bedding. Batteries not included – but when are they ever…?
Hands down, one of the coolest things I have ever found in the clearance rack at Michaels. For $4.99, I can customize 20 coasters – with a gorgeous stamp set included in the kit, or with my own craft supplies. I plan on using them as gifts (sorry friends, spoiler alert) and adding a bottle of wine or a set of glasses!
That bottle of wine I’m gifting? It will most certainly have a beautiful personalized tag around its neck! Another $4.99 purchase from the clearance section – this amazing gift tag set! Honestly, I might have bought this for the adorable “with love” stamp alone. We all know wine is the best gift – now it will be the best-dressed gift too.
I love shopping for other people. Even with my own money. This gorgeous tray caught my eye in one of Michaels many home goods aisles, and I immediately snapped a picture to send to my mom – she’s been looking for a tray to compliment her new deck furniture and the yellow in this one perfectly matched her outdoor pillows. Can’t you just imagine that tray filled with martinis on a warm summer night?
Last on the list but first in my basket – this bright and bubbly $2 notecard set! Though I usually make my own, I love having blank cards on hand for all occasions. Call me old fashioned, but there is something so satisfying about snail mail.
I could have spent another 6 hours and $800 dollars in there – easily. But I decided to practice restraint this time and only find sale items to share with. Another amazing way to save: Download the Coupon Sherpa app. There are coupons for a TON of great stores and you don’t have to sign up for any mailing lists to use them! I used a 20% off my entire purchase, including sale items, and watched with glee as my already low prices sunk even lower.
