As always, I’m quite excited for the weekend to begin. But to be honest, I’m not sure if it can top the past week! Here are my top 5 things I loved about the beginning of May:
Rittenhouse Spring Festival. I went into the city with 4 of my wonderful girlfriends and we had a great time at the annual Spring Festival in Rittenhouse Square! Krista and I started off the afternoon at the Broad Street Expo to pick up our bibs for the race, and then we all enjoyed delicious food and cocktails in the CBRE VIP tent. You really can’t go wrong with beautiful weather, good friends and cold drinks… especially free ones ; )
Broad Street 10-Miler. This is my second year running in the Blue Cross Broad Street race and I don’t think I’ll ever miss one in the future if I can help it. It is an absolutely incredible feeling to run through your entire city with 40,000 other people, especially with one of your best friends by your side!
Birthday Barbeque. We started this tradition after last year’s race, and I knew I needed to continue it on Sunday. Everyone comes over to grill, hang out on the deck and play yard games – and to celebrate my birthday, of course ; ) We had a delicious meal, birthday sangria and plenty of cupcakes – and Tim and I dominated Kan Jam, as usual!
Dinner & The Avengers. On Tuesday, or Cinco De Birthday as we call it, my family and Tim took me out to dinner at the Chelsea Tavern in downtown Wilmington. The evening temperature was perfect so we ate outside, and afterwards Tim and I headed to the movies to see the new Avengers movie. I have a thing for Iron Man… I also have a thing for boyfriends who suggest pre-show selfies : )
14th Annual Great Guys Dinner. This is such an amazing event, and one that’s even closer to my heart this year as I recently started volunteering with Bringing Hope Home – an organization that provides financial and emotional support to families of cancer patients. We had a wonderful time at the dinner and raised over $350,000!
It’s been a busy week, but well worth the lack of sleep! This weekend we have a beer-tasting event, a Saturday night hockey game & Mother’s Day at the winery. What are your plans for the next few days?
