I eat a LOT.
Okay so maybe I have a genetically blessed crazy-fast metabolism and I’m thin (is it appropriate to use #sorrynotsorry here?) but I eat every 1 ½ to 2 hours, minimum. The thing is, I don’t have full meals. I snack! I try to keep it healthy, but we all slip sometimes. Or most times. Whatever.
Here are my favorite snacks of the moment – Salty, sweet, healthy & protein-packed. Hope you find something new to indulge in!
First up; salty. I usually eat a small sandwich around midday, and I’m one of those people that simply cannot eat a sandwich without something crunchy beside it. I’ve been on a Pirate’s Booty kick for a few years now (it’s perfect) but I’m giving a runner’s-up award to the Special K Cracker Chips. I’ve had the Sour Cream & Onion flavor, but I’m hooked on BBQ now. Filling AND flavorful!
We’ll do healthy next, so it seems like I’m not a total junk food addict…
I LOVE Graze boxes. I don’t get them regularly – I’ll sign up for a box every now and then when I’m slacking on portion control – but I haven’t disliked a single item in any of my past or present boxes. They vary between salty and sweet and every single choice has some sort of health benefit for you. Shown here: Graze Popcorn, BBQ relish with tomato breadsticks, and oatmeal and cocoa cookie dippers with cherry compote. Try it out here!
When I’ve just exercised, I tend to reach for a snack with a high amount of protein to help rebuild my muscles. One of my latest and greatest finds in this department is the Think Thin protein bar line. I absolutely loved the Sea Salt Caramel bar and up next is this Creamy Peanut Butter option. I’ll let you know how it tastes!
Last on the list, first in my heart: the sweet snack. All my life I’ve been a huge chocolate fan (like most normal humans) but I mostly stuck to the Milk variety. Lately though – I’ve become obsessed with Dark chocolate, particularly the Dove bar pictured here. The best part, other than the delicious taste and the fact that 2 squares can satiate my chocolate craving, is that I can pick these up for 89 cents at the dollar store. Yes, you read that right.
What have you been snacking on lately? I always have at least one snack of fresh fruit and one serving of veggies, but when you’re eating every 2 hours, variety is key!
